MELTING AREA

Posted by admin . March 23, 2019

The melting area is home to a melting furnace where aluminum ingots are melted before it is fed to the die casting machine. Aluminum ingots melt at 680℃ at our melting furnace. It is then fed to the die casting machine which contain the dies. The molten metal rapidly cools and ejected as casting and prepared to undergo different processes.

For safety purposes, the melting area requires additional layer of protective equipment compared to other workshops within the plant. Workers assigned at the melting or die casting area must be equipped with a hard hat, face shield, aluminum apron, shoe cover and gloves apart from the standard Personal Protective Equipment. Workers are assigned on rotation to avoid prolonged exposure to high temperature. Our Safety Policy ensures that all personnel know the safety procedures to maintain zero accident that we have been enjoying in the past four years.
